University
The University of Karlstad is relatively new and it is expanding rapidly. Today, more than 10 000 students study in Karlstad and the University area is continuously growing. Stora Enso Research, which is a company that develops and improves products based on wood fibre, is located next to the University and there is a close co-operation between the two of them.
Karlstad is an old educational centre and the university has a large number of different education possibilities that they can offer the students. There is a broad variety regarding pedagogical and technical aims as well as special interests, such as track and field, ice hockey, music and much more. Students also can study for the international baccalaureate, or apply for the international TIME-shool based in Karlstad.
